Control is at your fingertips

The touch-screen control is featured on the all-new V-140X.

At Versa-Drill, we believe in finding the perfect balance between innovation and tried-and-true methods.

Change in our products is never on a whim, but rather because we want to make our rigs more intuitive, more efficient, and even longer lasting than ever before.

In 2022, we set to work on evaluating our rigs’ displays and electronic control. With inspiration from elite construction and agriculture companies, we pushed to integrate better technology into the world of drilling. This is balanced by maintaining the same rig functions, like hydraulic joysticks and electric switch controls our customers have grown to love.

Here are just a few of the cutting-edge changes you can expect to see in 2023.

  1. The Drilling Screen

    1. Across the top of the screen, you can now see all of the truck engine parameters. No matter what tab you navigate to, the parameters remain. The colors will change depending on the status of each parameter. The rig work lights can be turned on and off in the upper right-hand corner as well.

    2. On the bottom of the screen, the level indicator uses advanced capabilities to send you a warning message if you begin to tilt while the derrick is upright. This visible and audible warning to the operator is important for work efficiency and safety.

    3. Next to the indicator, you have “String Weight.” This gives you the current amount of weight, in pounds, that is down hole.

    4. Lastly, the Feed, Rotation, Charge, and Accessory pressures in PSI show the amount of hydraulic pressure in those circuits.

  2. Meters

    1. Using the touch display, now you’ll be able to Navigate to ‘Meters’ to see the hour meters for PTO, Mud, Compressor, and Rotation. Versa-Drill rigs have always had mechanical hour meters for PTO and compressors, but with this update, you can see meters for mud and rotation. This will allow you to more accurately gauge how often you need to rebuild the mud pump and or top head swivel seals.

  3. Compressor

    1. See all parameters necessary for running the onboard compressor.

  4. Status Lights

    1. Given the digital transducers that we are now using, you can see immediate feedback on the status of your machine. High-temperature warnings or high back pressure in the oil filters will promptly indicate to the operator that the rig may be in need of service.

  5. Bonus Features

    1. The display also provides tell-tale indicators for the after-treatment on the engine and allows the user to override a regen cycle if necessary.

    2. With ample amounts of memory in the PLC, users can now access a digital copy of the rig manual directly on the display. Inside the manual, the user can order service items or locate a copy of the Electrical and Hydraulic schematics. The touch screen even provides the ability to pinch and zoom on a document just as if you were using your phone.

Our passion for innovation runs deep. That’s why these updates, specifically created with the user and job in mind, will modernize drilling techniques and move your business forward. With ease, simplicity, and cutting-edge designs, this new display is a must-have for 2023. As for us, we will continue doing what we do best: producing rigs that balance innovation with proven grit and reliability.
